Our Client’s Challenge
Our Client – a socially-oriented education start-up – had for several years noted a gap in private, faith-based post-secondary education in Ontario. The quality of programs, pedigree of faculty and access to global research and scholastic networks all lacked, leading to outmigration of up-and-coming scholars to universities and research institutes in the US and in Europe. Our client saw its opportunity:
To establish an accredited private post-secondary institution in Ontario with graduate and undergraduate programming and an array of research partnerships with several public and private universities.
Our Response
Sumar+ was engaged to develop a multi-year development roadmap that would enable the establishment of the research institute and accredited private post-secondary institution in Ontario. Sumar+ worked with the inaugural board, the leadership team, and external stakeholders to define / create a launch strategy, focused on four interconnected streams of activity:
- Institutional Launch Plan: Operational roadmap, implementation guidance and financial projections.
- Academic Program Development Strategy: Academic plan, program design, research, and professional learning.
- Fund Development Strategy: Initial planning and pitch preparation to support Client engagement with donors.
- Digital Engagement Strategy: Social / platform analysis, and wireframe design to launch web presence.
Impact
We worked with the Board through design and pre-launch, positioning the Institute to successfully launch its donor development and digital engagement strategy, and cultivate a followership among donors and community influencers.
